Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Born as Karl Hans Joseph in Carrefour, Port-au-Prince, Haiti, My mother, is a school teacher, and my father a journalist, My journey through life and music has been a unique and inspiring one. Although my backyard was the cradle of several local groups, “Lambada” “Black Bird” and “Bobech: My uncle’s friend Orline Titus was the only one who got an actual record deal with a label, seeing him dealing with so much discrepancy and misfortune on the music scene led me to the independent pathway, which came about the debut album, Above the LAW, a project that defied conventional norms not only in its music but also in its creative process. The artist’s record label went on to become a powerhouse in promoting and distributing music globally, catering to both underground and mainstream artists. Names like Meza45, Skytalks, Next. Kafou City and more found a platform through this label, further enriching the artistic landscape.

Karl Hans Joseph, once a student with aspirations in a different field, transformed himself into a trailblazing artist who redefined the music scene. His journey, marked by resilience, self-discovery, and creative innovation, serves as an inspiration to aspiring artists and dreamers around the world. Through his music and his label, he has carved out a space where unconventional ideas flourish, and the spirit of innovation knows no bounds.

When did you first start to develop a passion for music?

My passion for music started at a tender age, I can truly say that was my first love. My mother, who still lives in the same house that I was born into, still has some tapes of me singing along with Tracy Chapman or Georges Brassens. The passion for Hip-hop was just as early but became an obsession with Buju Carlz, Wu-Tang and The Fugees.

Which artists did you listen to while growing up?

Tracy Chapman, Georges Brassens, 50 Cent, 2Pac, Buju Carlz, Wu-Tang and The Fugees.

How would you describe your music to someone who hasn’t heard you before?

My music my views of the world, and my personal experiences, and hopefully some of my listeners would find value in that. I feel like I answered a call, but I honestly haven’t figured out the core message yet. I want to be remembered as somebody who was always looking for alternatives to the conventional way of things.

Who would your dream collaboration be with?

Any of the 3 would be awesome: Wyclef Jean, Ice Spice from Brooklyn or CKay the Nigerian singer

Where can we find out more about you?
